Powder Brows are a form of cosmetic tattooing that adds shape, colour and definition to the brows using a soft, shaded technique. Colour is built gradually through the brow to reach the desired level of saturation, creating the look of softly filled-in brows rather than individual hair strokes.

Microblading creates individual hair-like strokes by making small cuts in the skin, while Powder Brows uses a minimally invasive technique with a tattoo machine to deposit pigment in a soft, shaded pattern. Powder Brows tend to heal more evenly and are suitable for a wider range of skin types, while still creating a soft, dimensional result.

Immediately after treatment, your brows will appear darker and more defined than the healed result. As the skin heals, the colour softens considerably. The amount of saturation is tailored to your features and preference, with the goal of creating soft, balanced definition that still looks like your brows.

Powder Brows typically last around 2–3 years before a Colour Boost is wanted, although this varies from person to person. Skin type, lifestyle, sun exposure, skincare products and individual metabolism can all affect how quickly the pigment fades.

The brows will look slightly darker and more defined immediately after treatment. Over the following days, clients may experience a little dryness or light flaking as the skin heals, but heavy scabbing is not typical. The colour may appear lighter or slightly uneven at different stages of healing before settling. Your final result is assessed once the brows have fully healed, with the Perfecting Session scheduled 6–8 weeks later.

Most clients find Powder Brows very manageable. A topical numbing product is used during the appointment to keep you comfortable, and the sensation is commonly described as light scratching or pressure rather than pain.

Powder Brows are ideal for clients who want more shape, fullness or definition in their brows, whether the brows are naturally sparse, uneven or simply need more structure. They are suitable for many different skin types and can be customized from very soft shading to a more defined finish. Certain medical conditions, medications or skin concerns may require medical clearance before treatment. At Cult of Rose Beauty, Powder Brows are not performed during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.

Possibly. Previous cosmetic tattooing needs to be assessed before booking, as the existing colour, shape and amount of pigment remaining will determine whether we can safely work over it. In some cases, removal or additional fading may be recommended before a new treatment is performed.
